Summary of the trial:

The trial deals with prevention and intervention in suicide attempts. The objectives are: to estimate the incidence of suicide attempts in Spain, to track people who make suicide attempts to study the incidence of re-attempt, to identify risk factors that can predict repeat attempts, to determine the effectiveness of secondary prevention programs for suicidal behavior compared with usual treatment, and to create a national platform for the study and prevention of suicide.

Basic Inclusion Criteria:

1. Male or female over 12 years of age
2. Having gone to the emergency department of a hospital for attempted suicide

Basic Exclusion Criteria:

1. Inability to give informed consent
2. Poor fluency with Spanish
